Remembrance Day at Light Horse Park
It was an honour to attend the Remembrance Day prayer service on November 11th at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, followed by procession to the cenotaph at Light Horse Park. This was the first Remembrance Day where the South Alberta Light Horse regiment rang the Welberg Bell. The Bell was donated to the regiment last summer by the communities of Welberg and Steenbergen in the Netherlands as thanks for Canada's part in liberating this region from German occupation during the Second World War. The bell will be rung each year on Remembrance Day at the same time as its sister bell in the Netherlands.
